The Artist sweeps board at Orange BAFTAs!

French silent film The Artist was the toast of this year's Orange British Academy Film Awards, scooping seven gongs including Best Film, Best Director (Michel Hazanavicius) and Best Leading Actor (Jean Dujardin).

Other winners on the night included Meryl Streep for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady and Christopher Plummer for best supporting actor (Beginners).

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy picked up two awards, for Outstanding British Film and Best Adapted Screenplay, while Anuvahood star Adam Deacon won the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, the only award chosen by public poll.
